Match Report

Panorama clinched their first League Cup final berth since 2019, delivering yet another stellar performance on the road. Although the final scoreline read a decisive 4-0, the match was more challenging than it appeared. Panorama had to contend with a slew of injuries that depleted an already thin roster, including key players like Almeida, Olgiati, Bailey, and Botoulas. This cast a slight shadow over their accomplishment.

Facing off against Sandton Warriors—a team known for numerical superiority in past encounters—Panorama opted for a 4-5-1 formation. Liu stood tall between the sticks, while Benites shifted to the midfield to offer extra defensive cover, allowing the more attack-minded midfielders and lone striker Swanepoel greater freedom.

After an initially tentative opening 10 minutes, Panorama broke the deadlock. A well-executed sequence of quick passes culminated in an exquisite assist from Bailey, which Swanepoel skillfully converted—marking his return to the scoresheet after a four-month drought. Panorama's second goal came courtesy of another brilliant assist from Bailey, this time finished by Almeida, who continues to ride a hot scoring streak after notching a hat-trick last week.

In the second half, despite being hampered by injuries and fatigue, Panorama resisted Sandton Warriors' physical attempts to dominate the flanks. Defensive stalwarts Ho Lam and Neale put in focused performances to keep the Warriors at bay. It was Neale's pinpoint cross that set up Olgiati for a one-touch finish past the goalkeeper, followed by a simple tap-in, bringing the score to 3-0.

The final goal was a familiar sight: Mdunge found the net off an assist from Olgiati, sealing the 4-0 victory.

This win marks another significant milestone for Panorama on a challenging pitch, as they set their sights on both the final and potentially, a historic double.
