Match Report Just like last year, Panorama travelled to Robertsham in order to play a decisive game against Lenesia. And just like that game, Panorama came out winning 3-1.

If last year this was enough to win the league though, this time the team needs to await for other results to see if they won for the first time a first division title, after winning the last 3 seasons in the lower divisions.

The game was also very different to the one played 12 months ago. Coach Robson started with a solid 4-5-1 with one mission in mind: putting pressure on Lenesia's defensive line and dominate the game from the start, instead of counter attacking. And the team followed the instructions very well. Inward coordinated the back four (a returning Smith, Dixon, Robson and an ever running Lewis), and Lenesia could not find a way to play their quick game.

The 5 in the midfield (Olgiati, Almeida, Bailey, De Leo and Goncalves) kept pressure from the start, attacking their wing backs, while Egbers was isolated up front, trying to force any mistake.

From the start Lenesia suffered and couldn't find their usual attacking flair, and Panorama thrived. After few good chances it was only a matter of time before Panorama scored, and the opening goal came from the left, with Goncalves dominating his marker and scoring after beating the keeper.

In the second half Panorama started rotating the players, looking for a second goal, but Lenesia found the 1-1 thanks their only shot in the whole game, a long range effort that lobbed Inward.

But that ended up being a flash in the pan, with Panorama continuining to dominate without effort, and testing the Lenesia's keeper from the long range. At the end it was the most unlikely of players to score the winner. After a good ball played by Bailey on the right, Jeanes controlled it, turned his marker and smashed it in the roof of the net with quickness that many thought it was impossible.

But it not going to be the last surprise by Jeanes who, 10 minutes later, controlled a pass by Goncalves and scored with a precise shot just outside the area the winner.

Panorama had few chances to score a 4th, but the only thing that kept Lenesia close was their keeper.

After the final whistle celebrations were in order. In the worse case scenario, Panorama would finish second, a great achievement in a tough division. But if for any reason Warriors drops points in their 2 last game, then Panorama would be crowded winners.

Some stats from the game:
  • This was the 9th game between Panorama and Lenesia.  Panorama won 6 of them
  • Panorama ended the season undefeated for only their third time in history
  • Jeanes scored his 9th goal for the team! Not bad for someone who played most of his games in goals (showing that his "I can play anywhere" motto was for real)
  • Thanks to his 6th career goal, Goncalves entered the top 20 in the overall top scoring table for Panorama
