Panorama continued the good start of the season with a 2-1 win against Edenvale. With plenty of players to choose from, coach Kelly decided to start with the same winning team as last week. Dixon, a new face in the team, was introduced in the first half, while the rest of the players (a returning Harris, Micheals and Miles) all had a chance to play during a tight game. Panorama as usually started a bit nervous, but soon took control of the game. By pressing very high with 4-5 players at the time, they gave no chance to Edenvale to try to play the ball, forcing Edenvale to long balls that were easily managed by the back four. The opening goal came around the half hour mark, when Thornton open his account for the league with a deflected shot from outside the box. Panorama didn't have many other chances, but Edenvale had either less, and Nick Thornton in goal had a relaxing first half. In the second half Edenvale found the 1-1 by taking advantage a Panorama error. But this was their only good chance in the game. Olgiati scored the 2-1 but it was rules offside, and, with the pressure mounting, Edenvale fouled Veldon in the area for a clear penalty. Thornton stepped up to convert the 2-1. Panorama had few more chances, but a mixture of good saves by the keeper and some errors in the last 10 meters, they couldn't score more. The game ended with another good results for the Undertakers, in a very hard league! |
