Match Report |
Panorama managed to survive a crazy game and take home 3 points with an improved goal difference. With Robson on European duties, Olgiati took charge of a team missing quite a lot of players. No changes were made to the usual module, with a 4-4-2 that had the intention of using Benites and Lewis as attacking wings in order to put pressure early on. On a smaller field, and with very low light, both teams struggled to control the ball in the first 20 minutes, with a game played at such a frenetic pace that it resembled more a pinball machine. First touches were lost, second touches were going nowhere. Panorama somehow managed to find spaces on the wings, and scored 3 goals before the break thanks to a brace by Benites and another goal by Lewis (after hitting the post with Ryan Smith and missing few glorious chances). Dainfern replied with 2 goals including a penalty, leaving them at touching distance. In the second half Panorama took finally control of the game and destroyed Dainfern. Benites scored his first hat-trick for the team with an early goal for the 4-2. After Lewis was brutally fouled on the right wing (with the player receiving a red card), Jeanes scored with a direct free kick , surprising the keeper. Then the floodgates opened and in the space of 10 minutes Panorama scored 3 more goals. Olgiati (after somehow managing to miss a triple chance in front of the keeper), scored from Dixon's assist. Then Miles started a fantastic move on the left that Olgiati completed with a similar pass for the half-injured Lewis. Finally Egbers put his mark on the game with a shot from just inside the area the exact moment the sprinklers popped out, forcing the referee to end the game with few minutes spare (and stopping Panorama from probably scoring more goals...) Overall a solid performance (especially in the second half) for the 6th win in the last 7 games. Some stats from the game:
