Match Report |
Panorama managed to avoid the same mistakes they made at Sporting and won against Maritimo in the usual scrappy contest. After (as usual) Maritimo turned up late, Panorama, playing with a 4-4-2 formation, struggled to impose themselves through a lack of pressure and some confusion in the passing. The high intensity game displayed against stronger side was obviously missing, but they still got close to score when Olgiati managed to round his marker only for the keeper to stop a sure goal with a great save. Panorama tried their luck from distance, but way too often the ball just didn't get on target. Eventually Maritimo tried their luck with a shot from 30 meters that caught Inward wrong footed. That was Maritimo first and last shot on target in the whole game. Panorama decided to up the pressure and eventually managed to find the 1-1 thanks to a great move by Benites, able to pass his marker on the left and deliver a perfect cross for Olgiati, who converted it with a volley. In the second half Robson made some changes to the formation, moving Olgiati up front and utilizing Lewis, Bailey and a returnin Egbers in a free running role. Form the start it was an assault on Maritimo, that somehow managed to stay in the game for way longer that they deserved. They tried every single trick on the book, eventually dragging some Panorama players in the dirty plays. After Bailey scored from a fantastic volley the winning goal, just to be ruled out for an unexisting offside, and Lewis had a golden chance to score the winner, Panorama found the breakthrough when Dixon won the ball in the midfield and fed Olgiati, who in turn played to ball to Bailey. Bailey's shot was slightly touched by a Maritimo's defender, but it was enough to lob the keeper. Maritimo tried to push forward, but the back four managed to easily contain their counter attacks thanks to the calm display of Robson and Smith (Clive), and some last minute tackles by Jeanes and Smith (Ryan). So overall it was a good 3 points by Panorama, keeping the team at the top of the league after 6 rounds. Some stats from the game:
