Match Report |
Panorama started the league with a convincing win against Victoria Park F.C. After some rusty minutes were both teams showed the lack of cohesion due to the long 2 months pause, Panorama, after getting close with Thornton and Veldon, found the opening goal with Almeida, who, assisted by Thornton, found the right angle inside the area. Almeida and Veldon dominated the midfield, and thanks to the large spaces allowed, were on strike numerous times. The solid back four of Stoychev, Robson, Morris and Kelly gave no chance to Victoria, whose only attempts came from the distance, leaving little to do for Jeanes, returning in goal after almost a year. Up front Michaels, starting his first game in almost 2 years, made the life impossible for the Victoria defenders. From a foul on him just outside the area Veldon curled a splending free kick in the top corner, leaving the keeper no chance. Olgiati and Thornton had more chances to round the score in the first half, but it was not meant to be. In the second half Panorama as usual sit comfortable and hit like a trained assasin on the counter attacks. From a long ball by Jeanes, Olgiati flicked in the direction of Michaels, who scored after beating the keeper. Michaels then didn't miss a beat with his second chance, when from a long ball by Morris once again he beat the offside trap to then lob the keeper. Michaels was on the hat trick but his last attempt was cruelly denied by the post. Panorama could have scored few more but the score stayed the same, a resounding 4-0. Man of the match was elected Michael Michaels, who convinced up front, converting all the chanced he had. |
