Match Report For the third time in a row, Panorama scored 7 goals, finally going beyond the quarter finals of the league cup after the last two failed attempts (which ended in defeats at penalties against Randburg - who lost with Lenesia on the same night).

Without Kelly, it was Robson's turn to take care of coaching duties. Robson, ready to vindicate his only defeat as manager against the same team in December 2017, decided to start with a very forward minded 4-4-2, by releasing all the attacking players on the field at once. From the start Old Parks couldn't cope with Panorama's high pressing and quick counter attacks with 4 / 5 players, and it was only a matter of time before Panorama stepped on a gear and destroyed the opponent.

Jeanes, in a Pirlo-like mood, decided to provide assists after assists from his left back position, and started with a glorious pass to Bailey that was converted with a precise shot. With a cup semifinal at stake, Old Parks tried to open up the play but they ended up being slaughtered by Panorama. Further goals by Goncalves, Egbers and a brace by Dixon (returning to goal after almost 2 unlucky months of hitting the keeper or the posts from good positions) gave Panorama a 5-0 lead my half time.

In the second half Panorama started a heavy rotation of players in order to try different positions, and Old Parks managed to pull one back thanks to Lewis' unlucky deflections behind Inward, until then basically a tourist on the field.

Egbers got eventually the 6th one while Dixon, in a give-me-the-ball-I-will-score mood, scored a fantastic header after another long range pass by Jeanes.

Panorama could have scored few more, but once again the posts saved Old Parks, with Benites and Dixon hitting one each, and Olgiati taking care of not scoring by missing 2 good chances.

Overall was another solid performance by Panorama, currently playing at another level compared to all the other teams in the league. With a 1st place in the league all but confirmed and a semifinal at home against Maritimo next week, Kelly's team can start dreaming about the double (last time it happened in 2016).

Some stats:
  • With his first hat-trick, Dixon now scored 30 goals for Panorama, only 3 behind 4th placed Veldon
  • Dixon joins 7 other players who have scored 3 goals or more in a game: De Leo, Bailey, Thornton (3 times), Bezuidenhout (4 times), Olgiati, Lewis and Wills
  • This was the 9th game between the two teams since 2012. Panorama won 7 of those (/results.asp?season=&competition=&team=27&where=&what=&keyword=), scoring 28 goals and conceding 9. Miles is the one who has played the most games against Old Parks, with 9.
