Match Report |
Panorama provided another dazzling display in the demolition of Edenvale, keeping us with Lenesia and continuining the march to the top. Kelly decided to experiment with a new formation, a 4-1-4-1 with Wills returning to right back position (celebrating his 100th cap for the team), Dixon in front of the defense and Bailey in a free role behind the lonely striker De Leo. With a short bench due to the usual amount of injuries and missing players, Panorama started cautiously, almost scoring with a volley by Smith from a corner. Edenvale tried to play long balls for the (very tall) striker up front, but Panorama controlled the game and engaged a higher gear that saw them scoring 4 unanswered goals within 20 minutes in the first half. The hero of those goals was De Leo, getting more and more comfortable in the striker position after Thornton's departure. De Leo scored the first goal with an incredible control and volley just outside the area, and the second from Bailey's pass. Olgiati scored the third after sprinting 40 meters in order to collect De Leo pass and then, after Bailey's shot was saved by the keeper, the italian striker scored the 4-0. In the second half Panorama simply controlled the game, and Edenvale tried hard to get back in it, but Jeanes was left mostly undisturbed. Harris scored the fifth goal was it was ruled unjustly offside. In the last 20 minutes Edenvale couldn't keep the pace anymore, and Bailey scored his hat trick, with two powerful shots inside the area and one from a shot-cross that confused the keeper. Panorama had few more chances to score maybe 5-6 goals more, but it was enough to put a smile on Kelly's lips, and prepare the hard challenges coming in the near future. Man of the match: De Leo. Scored 3 goals, taking his tally to 7 this season in only 8 games. |
