Match Report |
Panorama delivered a masterclass of football in the first 45 minutes of the game to continue their march at the top of the league, thanks to a strech of unbeaten games that reached 24 matches tonight. Coach Kelly decided to play with Miles up front, utilizing him as a sort of decoy to allow the runs from Thornton, Olgiati and Veldon. Livesey was deployed right back while Mac Gregor started in the middle. The bet worked perfectly. With the central defenders marking Miles, the three top goalscorers of Panorama had plenty of opportunities to play the ball. The first three goals were scored in rapid succession: Veldon and Olgiati exchanged short balls of the left, and Veldon's cross was converted into a goal by Thornton. Then, on a quick counter attack, it was Olgiati's time to release the running Veldon from the midfield, who could not miss on a one-on-one. 10 minutes later, a cross by Thornton was converted by Olgiati with his first touch, a repeat of last week's goal. With the back four holding Randfontein without problems, Panorama had more chances to score, but it was only a fantastic cross by Livesey that connected with Veldon's head that marked the 4-0. In the second half Kelly rested Chrichton, suffering from an ankle injury, and shuffled the team around, deploying Mathebula on the left and Harris in the middle. Not much happened, apart from an own goal scored by Morris with a great header in the top corner in the initial part. More chances were wasted but the score stayed the same. Another convincing victory for Panorama in a (so far) great 2014! |
