Match Report |
Panorama continued the good start of the season by winning at home against Old Parks (who beat them in one of the most surprising games of the season last year). After losing Stoychev for the whole year due to a terrible bike crash (good luck with the recovery!), and with Kelly, Harris, Robson and Bezuidenhout not available, Panorama started with a cautious 4-4-2, by deploying the returning Iron-Man hero Atkinson in the middle of the defence and keeping the pairing of Almeida/Dixon in the heart of the midfield. Panorama started strong and De Leo had a good chance to score after a nifty counter attack move, but his shot was saved by the keeper. Dixon soon started a personal mission in order to score from 40 meteres, but his first five shots were slightly off target. Almeida got close to score from an Olgiati's cross and so was Lewis. After a tense 0-0 in the first half , Panorama finally broke the deadlock after Thornton passed to Olgiati, who then cooly slotted behind the keeper for the first goal of the game. Incredibly 10 minutes later Old Parks score with their only shot of the game. But it was Dixon who took care of the winning goal, after blasting from inside the area a pass from Thornton and scoring with his 7th attempt (his 8th would hit the post from 40 meters). Towards the end of the game, after another counter attack, Dixon passed the ball to Olgiati for the easiest of the tap-ins. Overall a solid performance in a game of missed chances. |
