Match Report |
Panorama provided a dazzling display in a 6-0 home win against Randburg that confirmed their excellent form and solidified the top spot in the league. Without an injured Thornton, but with Stoychev, Lewis and Wills returning after a long absence, Kelly moved DeLeo up front and played with an attacking-minded 4-4-2. During the game Panorama constantly changed pace and style of play, either playing short crisp passes to score beautiful orchestrated goals, or try their luck on long range shooting and quick counter attacks from the wings. The solidity of the back four was never in question, but with Dixon deployed in a more attacking-minded role (with Atkinson taking care of defensive duties), Panorama found some physicality and precise passing during a first half spell that was a pleasure to watch. The hero of the first four goals was Bezuidenhout, scoring 4 goals in the space of an hour (and reaching 9 goals in the first 4 games of the season). Two came from Dixon's passing after quick actions on the right, while the other two came from Lewis and Jeans from the left. Panorama had some chance to round the score even more, with Meroni hitting the post after a 30 meters screamer, and Dixon doing the same. DeLeo, Robson (after a coast to coast) and Olgiati's shots also got very close to target. Panorama never relaxed and kept pressing, until Dixon scored his goal with a shot from just inside the area, and Olgiati scored Panorama's last goal of the night (like in the previous 3 games), with a sliding shot from a tight corner after a long ball by Dixon. Overall it was a fantastic performance for a Panorama team hitting their best just before the mandatory next week's break. |
