Panorama faced top-of-the-league Old Parks (who are dominating this year), and lost heavily at home, even if the score materialized in the last 20 minutes. Once again Kelly was forced to start with only 11 players, due to injuries or personal reasons. Stoychev and Lewis, both short of game time, were forced to start in the midfield, while Dixon arrived when the game started in order to at least give some breathing time for one player at the time. Against a stronger opponent Panorama held well, but they were punished with Old Parks' first real chance. Old parks scored again just before the end of the first half, but at least Panorama was still in contention. Surprisingly Panorama managed to pull one back when Olgiati controlled a long ball and somehow found Lewis, who scored by beating the keeper with a cool finish. It was Panorama's best moment, and they were gaining some ground before Old Parks scored the 3-1. In the final 10 minutes Panorama's resistence collapsed, with Almeida out injured and some players struggling to keep the pace with an opponent that was outmatching them. The 4-1 and 5-1 came when Panorama were left without any more stamina to cope. |
