Panorama didn't have time to celebrate a fantastic double in the Winter Season that it was already time to get back on the field to start the Summer League. With 7 away games (3 in the first 3 matches!) coming in the next few months, Panorama started against Florida on the Trezona field, a pitch which usually gives the boys some troubles. With Thornton still injured from last week's final, and Harris still missing, Kelly managed to get back Robson, returning from his Spanish adventure, and introduce Smith, recently brought in from the transfer market, to the team. With a solid 4-4-2, with Olgiati replacing Thornton up front, Panorama played a high line pressing game turning to a 4-2-4 in the initial 20 minutes. Florida struggled to cope with the pace and aggression of Panorama, but managed somehow to survive when Olgiati missed a good chance on a one on one with the keeper. Luckily, from yet another counter attack, Lewis found Bezuidenhout for a tap-in for the 1-0. Florida tried to avoid Panorama's pressure with long balls that were easily dealt by the back four. After Olgiati was once again fouled, De Leo delivered a perfect free kick that Dixon converted with an elegant diving header that didn't leave any chance to the keeper. In the second half Kelly introduced Smith and rotate players, keeping the midfield fresh. From one of the few mistakes of the night Florida found the 1-2, but 10 minutes Olgiati, after getting the ball from Bezuidenhout, scored the final 3-1 with a lob from 25 meters. It was a good performance that could have ended up with a even higher score, but for Panorama it was the best way to continue a hot streak. |
