Match Report |
Panorama got one win away from an incredible double by destroying Randburg in the semifinal of the League Cup (Winter edition). Kelly started his team with a cautious 4-4-2, but in the first half Panorama struggled to find their rhythm. They dominated from the early exchanges but their passing game was well below par. Bezuidenhout, continuining his scoring streak, took care of opening the score: De Leo worked a ball on the left and his pass found Thornton who in turn released Bezuidenhout, and he did not miss. Panorama had multiple attempts in the second half , with Harris almost finding the net from two long range attempts, but Randburg managed to keep the score acceptable. In the second half Kelly decided to switch to a 3-4-3 formation, and all of a sudden Randburg collapsed. Goals and chances came often and quick. Olgiati controlled a cross by Thornton and scored with a half volley for the 2-0. 10 minutes later Olgiati pass the ball to Atkinson who controlled it and unleashed a piledriver from 25 meters scoring in the top corner, leaving the keeper zero chances. The 4-0 came from Bezuidenhout, flicking with his hill a great pass by Thornton. Bezuidenhout then scored the 5-0 (and personal hat trick) by smashing the ball from a tough angle from an Olgiati's pass in the area. The 6-0 came courtesy of Lewis, who got the ball from Miles and worked it beautifully in the area, beating the advancing keeper. Panorama could have scored more, but Thornton's best attempt smashed on the post, and some long shots by Dixon and Wills didn't find the net. Over all it was another good performance by Panorama, advancing to the final of the cup as defending champions in great form! |
