Match Report |
Panorama recovered a point in a match that should have ended with an important away win. On a heavy pitch after some crazy winter rain, Panorama started strong and didn't give a chance to Dainfern, dominating with their lethal counter attacks. With Lewis and Olgiati having some trouble delivering decent crosses for the forwards, Bezuidenhout and Thornton had to take care of scoring by themselves. From a long ball by Jeanes Thonrton flicked for the running Bezuidenhout who managed to beat the defender and the keeper with a precise shot from just inside the area. Panorama had few more chances to score ( Bezuidenhout had a sure goal cleared off the line, and then couldn't convert from close range), but Dainfern somehow found the 1-1 with a penalty given in the last minutes to the first half. Panorama started the second half trying to keep some speed going on the wings, but Dainfern took the lead when, from a corner, Olgiati lost his marker who scored with a precise header. The game soon became scruffy, but once again was Panorama who got close to score, with Bezuidenhout missing a header from close range, and the keeper saving on Thornton and Lewis. Atkinson tried his luck few times from distance, but the closest he got was with a spectacular overkick from outside the area. In the dying minutes of the second half Panorama thre the kitchen sink at Dainfern, managing to stay in the game only thanks to some fantastic defending. De Leo had a big chance but his shot was saved with a combination of hand ball and luck by the last defender. Finally Panorama found the 2-2 from yet another corner. This time the ball ended up on Jeanes' feet, and while his shot was blocked, Lewis did not make any mistakes by converting from close range, smashing the ball in the net for a deserved 2-2. |
