Match Report After a never ending exciting battle, Panorama managed to pass the 1st round of the League Cup by winning at penalties against Randfontein.

The game started quite badly, with Randfontein all over Panorama, exploiting the wide pitch and the superior speed of the wings. In the first 15 minutes of domination, Randfontein scored the opening goal and had 2 good chances that were saved by a combination of the defense and Jeanes.

Panorama suffered on the usually reliable right side, where Randfontein loaded all the quick players. Towards the end of the first half Panorama managed to gain some control back and went close on scoring with Thornton (a wide header from a great position) and Olgiati (who hit the bar on an empty net). Lewis had a regular goal disallowed after the referee completely misjudged the tackle between him and the keeper, who was coming out and should have got a red card.

In the second half Panorama pressed, but all they could get was a series of corners that never resulted in much. Harris started a personal duel with the Randfontein's keeper, but all his long range shots were safely saved. Thornton, Wills and Atkinson got close as well.

Finally the pressure was too much for Randfontein, and Panorama, from yet another corner, won a penalty when a header by Dixon was stopped by a handball on its way to a goal.  Dixon stepped in and converted for the 1-1.

After the end of the first 90 minutes, it was extratime. Panorama dominated the two halves, but Randfontein's keeper kept the result safe with a series of miracles, especially towards the end of the game, when another long distance shot by Harris was once again stopped by the keeper.

At the end, the only way to decide which team would go through was the penalty lottery. Panorama scored the first one with Robson, wiht Harris and Olgiati adding to the score, without any error by the teams. Jeanes saved the 3rd penalty, and Thornton slotted his 4th, leaving Dixon with a chance to score the final one. Unfortunately he missed, but Jeanes hypnotized the opposition's player who shot wide, giving Panorama a deserved win.
