Match Report |
Panorama extended the unbeaten streak to 5 games with probably the most convincing performance of the season. Coach Kelly deployed Lewis on the left wing due to Stoychev's absence, and re-introduced Harris in the middle of the midfield. Both players rewarded the coach's decision with a fantastic performance by scoring a brace each. Panorama started strong and got close to scoring in the first minute, with the midfield taking ownership of the game. It wasn't long before Lewis found his first goal of the season, with a long distance volley that left the keeper no chance. Atkinson and Harris had no problem taking it to the Randfontein's midfielders, and the second goal, in a Barcelona-style series of first touches, ended up with Thornton finding Atkinson who duly converted. It wasn't long before Panorama scored the 3-0. Olgiati played Atkinson who then delivered a long cross that Lewis headed in the net. The second half, usually the most difficult half with Panorama this year, showed the team coming out without fear. Harris scored his first goal after another combination with Thornton, and soon after Thornton was finally on the score sheet with a header from Harris' free kick. Harris completed his best 20 minutes of his life with a free kick that lobbed the unprepared keeper. Panorama, 6-0 up, relaxed and Inward (replacing Jeanes in goals) conceded 2 goals. Harris had a chance to score a hat trick when he missed a header from Olgiati's cross, but he already did the damage earlier. It was a good win for Panorama, which lifted the team in the top half of the table for the first time this season. |
