Match Report |
Panorama extended their unbeaten streak to 4 games, but just like the previous week, had only themselves to blame in failing to snatch the whole 3 points. With Veldon back in the midfield after a long abscence, Panorama got their engine back, with two runners in the midfield taking care of business. After a series of unlucky events in front of the Randburg keeper that prevented Panorama from scoring, they finally scored the 1-0 after Olgiati found the running Veldon for an intelligent header that lobbed the keeper. Panorama could have probably scored few more goals, but, on the first attack, Randburg found the 1-1 when a tentative shot was mismanaged by the usually reliable Jeanes. In the space of the next 20 minutes, it was all about Panorama. Olgiati and Stoychev combined on the right, and Olgiati's shot from an impossible angle was badly dealt by the keeper, and Thornton just had to push the ball in the net. Some minutes later Veldon was tripped in the area and converted the penalty for a 3-1 lead. Veldon, so far the hero, started a personal war with the referee, who was strangely aggressive toward's Panorama players. A non-existing foul by Veldon was converted just before half-time with a clever free kick that went under the wall. In the second half it seemed that the referee lost control of the game, and in the space of 10 minutes Veldon got two yellow cards, leaving Panorama in 10. Randburg start pressuring more, and from a corner they found the 3-3 with a long shot from the distance. Just few minutes before full time, with Panorama opting for a 4-4-1 trying to keep Randbug at bay, another soft free kick was conceded, and after an unlucky touch by Pereira, the ball ended up on a Randburg player's feet, who converted from the short distance. But just like the week before, Panorama managed to regroup and find an important equalizer after Wills won a ball in the air for Dixon, who smashed from 16 meters a shot that hit the bar, bounced inside the line, and left a mark on the ground just to make it sure, showing Panorama's character even when everything was going against them |
