Match Report |
Panorama Battles Through Injuries to Earn a Draw In yet another night filled with challenges, with players still recovering from last week’s game and pushing through injuries, Panorama delivered a solid first-half performance before faltering slightly in the second. Despite the setback, they managed to secure a point against Old Parktonians. The team welcomed back Jooste and Kennedy, both ready to step in when needed. However, the starting lineup remained largely unchanged from previous weeks, with only minor adjustments in positioning. Panorama started brightly, creating several scoring opportunities until Inward unleashed a venomous strike from 20 meters, netting his second goal in as many appearances. Unfortunately, the celebration was short-lived as he pulled up with a severe hamstring injury while chasing down a pass—a familiar story this season. The second goal came from a new name on the scoresheet. After a string of impressive performances on the left wing, where he’s shown increasing initiative in attack, Neale finally opened his account. His 25-meter effort left the poorly positioned keeper with no chance, marking his first goal for the team. However, Panorama’s defense struggled with set pieces, conceding a soft goal from a corner late in the first half and another early in the second half—continuing a worrying trend as the last three goals conceded have all come from corners. Despite close calls from Miles, Kennedy, and even Ho Lam, the referee’s final whistle confirmed a 2-2 draw. There was a noticeable improvement in morale following last week’s tough match, but as Panorama enters the second half of the season, the focus must now shift to converting these promising 1-0 and 2-0 leads into decisive victories.
