Panorama continuted their struggled in the Winter League with another disappointing defeat against Randfontein. In a cold stadium, with winter finally here, coach Kelly was forced to start players that were either injured (Almedia and Dixon) or suffering from post-comrades pains (Olgiati). At the top of it, the lack of Pereira, Harris and an always injured Veldon added to the issues. Panorama started well, but the passing wasn't going anywhere. Olgiati had a good chance in the first 10 minutes but his shot was saved by the keeper. Soon after, Olgiati released Wills in the area who had two chances on a one-on-one with the keeper, but didn't manage to score. From an innocuous corner, the wind gave the ball a weird swirl which fooled Jeanes who misjudged the cross and ended up fetching the ball in his own net. 10 minutes later Olgiati scored from a Thornton's assist but his goal was disallowed for a non-existing offside. Panorama kept attacking, and once again they got close with Thornton, who stayed up after getting fouled in the area but couldn't lob the keeper. On the same counter attack, Panorama was exposed on the left and their winger scored the 2-0 with a tight shot. In the second half Panorama played much better, and found an early goal with a fantastic coast-to-coast action by Robson. After winning the ball in his own half, and running at the Randfontein's midfield, Robson exchanged a pass with Olgiati and asked for the one-two. Olgiati obliged and Robson, after beating the defense, managed to find a meter to shot at the keeper and score the 1-2. Unfortunately, even with Panorama putting more pressue on Randfontein, the score stayed the same. |
