Match Report

Panorama endured a disappointing start at their newly renovated home field, suffering a 3-2 defeat despite initially taking a 2-0 lead against their long-standing rivals, Randburg.

Operating with their customary 4-5-1 formation, Panorama had Brown spearheading the attack as the lone striker. They began brightly, exerting dominance over Randburg, but just as in the previous week, they squandered numerous opportunities to extend their lead by 2-3 goals within the opening half-hour. It was Brown who finally broke the deadlock, capitalizing on Mdunge's assist to open the scoring. Meanwhile, in the defensive ranks, Inward pulled off his customary heroics to keep the scoreline at 1-0.

In the second half, Panorama, following a flurry of changes, quickly added a second goal, with Lindsay finding the net from another Mdunge assist after a great team move that started from Inward, was continued with a precise header from Olgiati, went through Wendell and finally on Mdunge's feet for his cross. However, within a span of 15 minutes, they suffered a collapse, conceding three goals. Randburg exploited Panorama's loss of shape in midfield and their vulnerability on the counter-attacks, capitalizing on fresher and younger legs. The scoreline could have been more lopsided if not for Inward's remarkable saves that came to the rescue once again.

Overall, the feeling of losing for the third consecutive time to Randburg was far from satisfying. However, it is a part of the challenging journey in a relentless league, characterized by its unforgiving nature and growing pains.

One of the evening's highlights was witnessing the return of club legends Kelly, who still holds the 6th position in the all-time playing chart, and Gary Thornton, who retired six years ago but still maintains the 2nd and 3rd spots in overall goals and assists for the club.
