Match Report Panorama managed somehow to get a point in one of the toughest and physical games of the season so far.

After a run of hard games (Leeds, Randburg and GPMI), Panorama found another obstacle in their quest to the Division 2 title in a very spirited Sandton Warriors.

Unlike the past games, this time Olgiati had a very skinny bench, with only 4 players compared to the usual 7-8. With Bailey, Goncalves, O'Sullivan, Neale, Rinshaw, Smith and Jansen all unavailable, it was going to be a hard game from the start.

Sandton Warriors took the game to Panorama, but after a nervous start and a flat performance in the first 20 minutes, none of the team could score. If in Panorama's case the lack of killing instinct and precision passing was missing in the front, Sandton only had bad luck and an incredible performance by Inward to curse for their lack of goals.

In the second half the game got more physical, if that was possible. Panorama was often second best to the ball, and once again it was Inward to kept the score at 0-0, with Warriors hitting the bar at least 3 times.

Agains the run of play though Panorama scored with 10 minutes left on the clock, with Lindsay providing a perfect pass for Swanepoel who fought to control the ball, beat the marker , and score.

That was probably the best period for Panorama, with Miles having at least 2 golden chances to score the 2-0. Eventually Panorama's luck ended when they got hit by a quick counter attack after losing possession in the midfield, and this time for Inward another miracle was out of range.

Even if this score, on a hard night, meant that Panorama dropped points for the first time this year, it's only a matter of weeks before they can celebrate winning the league, with only  3 points needed from the next 4 games...

Some stats from the game:
  • While the record-breaking streak of 12 consecutive wins is now gone, Panorama unbeaten streak reached 13, the 6th best streak in ther history (the record is 26 between 26 June 2013 and 19 February 2014)
  • Panorama just need one win from the next 4 games (or 3 draws) in order to win the league, their first trophy since the 2019 Winter League Division 1
  • Swanepoel scored his 21st goal in 22 games for Panorama, reaching Wills in 12th position)
  • Lindsay continued his streak of contributions (goals or assists) by scoring his 10th assist in Winter and having a double digit season (19 goals and 10 assists in 13 games). Only Olgiati (3 times, with a 14+16 record, only 1 above Lindsay), Thornton (once) and Dixon (once) ever registered double digits in a season
