Match Report Panorama once again showed nerves of steel in order to win their 12th game in a row and moving a step closer to a direct promotion and the league title.

Agains a much stronger GPMI team then the last time they played, Panorama started with the usual 4-5-1, keeping a high pressing line in order to force the opposition to play useless long balls. A changed back four with Benites, O' Sullivan, Imbriolo and Neale didn't leave a single inch of space, winning balls left and right and playing nicely from the back.

In the midfield, while Mdunge was aptly controlled by their right back, it was Olgiati who had more freedom on the right, delivering crosses and passed that probably could have been converted earlier. Almeida , Smith and captain Bailey, reaching an important milestone (100 games, only the 4th player in the current setup with triple digits), generously run on a midfield that was often full of GMPI players trying to load their attacking intents.

The breakthrough happend in the usual way, when Mdunge was suddenly unshackled from marking and delivered a great pass for Almeida, who hasn't scored since last year september, for the 1-0.

In the second half the referees lost control of the game for a good part, and Panorama was penalised with a dubious sin bin , with Imbriolo forced to leave the team with one men less.

GPMI scored from the resulting free kick, but while other versions of Panorama  in the past would have folded, this one showed a strong reaction that ended up with two quick goals in inferiority: the first one by Bailery, from an assist by Franz, celebrating his century with an important goal, and the second one by Lindsay, taking advantage of a defensive error.

There was also some glory finally for an unstoppable Franz who scored his first goal after 42 matches.  After providing an assist and a goal, Franz was only so nice to the other team that gave away a penalty after a handball. But Mushore, who had a great night between the posts, hypnotized the striker who missed, by sending the ball miles wide

Panorama now lead the league with 6 points, 2 game in hand , and only 3 games left for Randburg. If Randburg do not win next week, and Panorama gets a result, they will be champions.

Some stats from the game:
  • This was the  second match against GPMI, win Panorama so far winning both
  • This was also Panorama's 12th consecutive win, reaching the previous record from 2019
  • Bailey's 100 game takes him to an exclusive club of only 13 players, at par with Smith. Only Olgiati (230), Miles (222) and Almeida (174) have more games in the current roster
  • The closest one to 100 games is now Benites at 66
  • Lindsay's 45th goal moves him 3rd overall, passing Dixon and Egbers
  • With his 19th goal in summer season, Lindsay beat the previous record for a single season (18 by Olgiati in 2018). The current record for a full year is 23 by Olgiati (twice, in 2016 and 2018). Lindsay sits at 12 already and it's only February!
  • Franz's first goal after 42 games leaves only 4 players in the full roster (excluding keepers) without a career goal now
