Match Report |
Panorama produced a stunning home display by destroying Sandton Warriors 4-0 at home. With the usual 4-5-1, with a returning O'Sullivan on the left and Egbers up front, Panorama started from the front foot, playing a precise passing game, often releasing the speedy Lindsay (in a man-of-the-match performance) on the righ side. While the back four controlled the game (the pairing of captain Smith with Garrard was too much too handle, while Franz and O'Sullivan were never in trouble), Panorama, unlike in the past games, never really panicked with the ball. Bailey and Smith (Ryan) provided the backbone of a dominating midfield, while Lindsay, Brown and Davidson provided support to Egbers, who finally broke his duck (his last goal scored was 140 days ago, his longest dry spell) with a tap-in from a great pass by Lindsay. Lindsay soon scored the 2-0 with a shot from outside the area, and just before the end of the first half Garrard scored in a pile-up after a corner was taken. In the second half Panorama kept the pressure up by quickly changing players while keeping a high attacking line. Rinshaw, Olgiati and Miles entered at different stages, and the rotation helped keeping the legs fresh Miles, playing his 200th official game, continuted his amazing season with another goal (this time from a penalty after Lindsay was fouled in the area), and probably there could have been more goals, but the Warriors' keeper managed to prevent that. Panorama should have gotten a penalty towards the end when Ryan Smith was mangled inside the area (injuring his back) but the referee had other ideas. Overall a good performance by Panorama, now entering a key period in April with games against Crusaders (home), Global United (home), Old Parks (away) and Global United (away) Some stats from the game:
