Match Report Panorama bounced back from a harsh defeat against Leeds with a thumping win away at Rangers (albeit on the usual home ground).

Coach Robson, starting his last month before his scheduled transfer to England, played the team with the usual 4-5-1, knowing that with a full bench of healthy players he could mix and match during the game at will.

From the first minute Panorama dominated the play, but the well drilled back four played by Rangers managed to keep the dangers at bay. Panorama could have probably scored one or two goals, but the recent troubles in front of goals stayed with them. Rangers game plan wasy easy: try to not concede, and then play long balls hoping for Panorama to make a mistake at the back.

After maybe 25 minutes the referee though had to be replaced. Something happened inside his head, he had some sort of crisis of conscience, and left inexplicably the field. Luckily a reserve referee was appointed and the game restarted, with Rangers somehow managing to hold on the 0-0.

In the second half Robson put some fresh legs, and Rangers, tired from constantly defending, eventually succumbed to the unrelenting pressure. Olgiati found the running De Klerk with a precise cross for the 1-0, before Lindsay scored the 2-0 from Benites' assist.

Olgiati also interrupted his long, LONG, draught with the 3-0 with the simplest of the tap-ins from an unselfish pass by Bailey, before Bailey assisted again, this time Davidson who scored with a great shot from outside the area.

Panorama had some more chance to score, with Olgiati hitting a poweful pass to the keeper 2 meters away, and too much passing happening from a good shooting position.

Overall Panorama played a spectacular second half, putting (at least for a week) some problems in the past.

Some stats from the game:

  • This was the second encounter between the two team, with Panorama so far winning both games
  • With his 4th season assists (and 28th overall), Bailey climbed on top on the current season's assits list and 7th in the overall (only 1 behind Lewis and Harris)
  • Olgiati returned to playing football after 610 days back in November when they played Rangers the first time, and scored after 896 days! (by far the longest break between scoring for a Panorama player)
  • This was Olgiati's 120th goal for Panorama, and 80th assist, putting him in the 200 club (Thornton follows in second with 105 points, and Dixon in 3rd with 79) in his 198th official game.
  • This was Inward's 20th clean sheet for Panorama, in 53 games.
