In one of the most exciting games of the night, Panorama and Global United (both still unbeaten in the league) faced in the first round after a cruel draw that matched them early in the competition. Global United historically always had issues with Panorama, and this time was no different. Coach Robson played with a super solid 4-5-1, leaving Egbers isolated up front but dominating the midfield exchanges, with Global forced to rely on long balls from the back. With a strong back four, the quick but physically indifferent opponents' forwards had no chance. Eventually Panorama broke the deadlock thanks to a goal by Goncalves thanks to an assist by Robson from a corner, but the joy was short-lived when Inward was beated by a freekick that shouldn't have been allowed. With a bench full of players, Panorama rotated the midfield while Global United struggled to execute their only game plan. Once again Panorama took advantage of some confusion in the back thanks to some great pressure by Egbers that ended up providing O'Sullivan with a tap-in for the 2-1. Global United decided to up the tempo against a tired Panorama team, and found the 2-2 after a mix up in the back. Wiht few minutes to do they found the 3-2, unfortunately eliminating Panorama from the tournament. It was a hard result to swallow for the team. They played solid, gritty football and deserverd more that they got at the end, but Robson can now look forward to the next batch of games to close the gap at the top. Some stats from the game:
