Match Report |
Panorama avoided defeat thank to a last minute goal by Gary Thornton. On a chilly night Panorama, still struggling to cope with injuries and missing players, took a while to get into shape, and Dainfern after 10 minutes had a chance to score the first goal when their forward was brought down in the area by Mac Gregor. The same player took the penalty, but Jeanes produced a miracle by first stopping the shot, and then, when the ball landed back to the player's feet, producing another great stop to prevent Dainfern from opening their account. Panorama struggled to get going in the last third, and too many long balls were played when a simple pass was all that was needed. Pereira was unstoppable on the right, and constantly linked with Olgiati for plenty of overlaps to assist in attacking duties. From a great corner by Harris Thornton was unlucky when his strong header hit the post. After the first half, with the score stuck on a 0-0, Panorama and Dainfern too often clashed in the midfield. Robson got a yellow card together with their player and soon after Dainfern scored. After a counterattacked that wasn't finalized, Dainfern found a gap and, after the first shot was saved, the tap-in was easily converted by their big forward. Panorama launched attack after attack mostly to avoid home defeat and continue the long stretch of unbeaten league games. Olgiati missed a good volley and then his header from a corner flew just wide. By it was Pereira who took care of everything. After a free kick badle taken by Dainfern, Pereira took the ball, advanced and unleashed the perfect cross just outside the area for Thornton, who hit the ball first touch to chip the keeper. With only 3 games left in this strange pre-season tournament (where the positions among all three leagues will decide the next leagues...) Panorama should finish in the top half, after some good results. |
